Diana Gwiyo is Project Manager, Entrepreneurship at Elimu.
She holds a Bachelors of Law degree from the University of Nairobi. An ICT enthusiast she completed a research paper on ICT and the law and has also been an entrepreneur in the ICT sector for over a decade, with a highlight of creating two mobile phone Apps. She is a founding member of Biashara Dada Initiative that was formed to empower women in business and to help them access information needed for starting and running their own businesses. At Biashara Dada she was as a trainer in table banking and micro-enterprise for a women’s group. Passionate about entrepreneurship and serving the vulnerable in society, at Elimu she directs their digital fashion program and established their annual Digital Fashion Show. She is developing their Mobile Resource Centre and community-based programming and takes the Elimu’s digital reading program out to the community at a women’s rescue centre and local prison. Diana is also coordinating a digital literacy program, with a group of boda boda (motorcycle) taxi drivers operating within Malindi. Diana has gathered professional and personal experience in diverse cultural environments, including the rural Tana Delta region, Nairobi City and Malindi Town.
