Stephen is a recent Form Four graduate who joined Elimu ‘s Cisco Networking Academy in March. He was among the last students to be enrolled with high hopes of finishing his studies by June, little did we know that the COVID-19 pandemic would dictate otherwise. The indefinite closure was a big blow to him. Forced to stay at home, Stephen is lucky to have a laptop (that belongs to his big brother).

“Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out.”
He has made good use of it and struggled to continue with his studies whenever he can get access to the internet. “I have not done much due to various challenges, the main one being the internet connection. It is too slow and at times unable to load videos and exams” he says. Stephen states that studying at home has been really difficult, since it has really slowed down his progress, for the last two months he has been able to complete only one chapter of the IT Essentials course.
Nevertheless, he still remains positive and focused as he does his best to complete the course. His only wish is for the pandemic to be over so that he can be able to go back to Elimu Resource Centre and finish his studies. If he can get access to faster internet that would also solve his problem. That is a challenge he is yet to resolve, but perseverance is sure to pay off.
