As high rates of motorcycle accidents keep being witnessed, Elimu Resource Centre has expanded a program that began two years ago to improve digital literacy for Bodaboda motorcycle taxi operators. The expanded approach will help the drivers to learn road safety rules via the internet.
We believe that this will help reduce the carnage especially in Malindi. The Malindi umbrella of motorcycle riders association participated in their very first class on Monday and will be coming in on a daily basis.
Education is for improving the lives of others and for leaving your community and world better than you found it.
With our improved eHub and Cisco Networking Academy, Elimu is proud to partner with Cisco with this latest initiative offering free Cisco curriculum to this group with its own special needs. With this arrangement the Bodaboda taxi owners will be able to acquire a certified Cisco certificate.
The classes will equally enable them to learn more about the government portals (e-Citizen) where drivers of all kinds can renew their licenses online. In Kenya today, all government services are offered online and it is of importance that all walks of people learn how to use the portals by themselves. Today, everything has a digital component and so it is critical to help build digital literacy in our community.
