As we continue to get the word out about our exciting eLearning innovation, we have been hosting demonstrations for stakeholders at Elimu Resource Centre. In August, we were honored to welcome Kilifi County’s CEC Education and ICT, Rachael Musyoki. She took time from a very busy schedule to visit us and allowed us to walk her through a brief history of Elimu and then a hands-on demonstration of the Kolibri EdTech platform and the Kenya specific content we have uploaded to it. Using her Smartphone, she was able to access the educational resources seeing that her phone was not using her data bundles – because Kolibri is an offline eLearning solution that does not require internet. It is totally free to the end user.

“Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.”
Hon. Mme. Musyoki only recently stepped into her role as the new CEC Education so it was with particular gratitude that we appreciated her making the effort and taking the time to be introduced to Elimu Resource Centre and Kolibri. We were able to clearly express our need for her support in helping us obtain the authorizations that will be needed for sending our Kolibri server signal out around the community. There will be follow ups to be made with her team in charge of ICT initiatives especially in relation to education. We are working on those.
Mme. Rachael’s visit follows on an earlier presentation made to her colleague, CEC Youth & Gender, Dr. Anisa Omar who came to the Centre in July.
Our thanks to the County government of Kilifi for their show support for eLearning in schools, and especially this offline eLearning solution.
