Elimu Stay in School Project recently hosted a mentorship session and year-end celebration for our sponsored students. The event, held ahead of the November national high school exams, brought together students, staff, and supporters in a heartfelt display of encouragement and shared aspirations.
The day kicked off with a mentorship session, where students connected with staff mentors and parents in small, focused groups. These intimate discussions allowed for personalized guidance, addressing each student’s educational goals and personal challenges. From navigating academic pressures to planning for their future, the mentorship sessions provided a safe space for students to reflect and gain clarity on their paths forward.
A special moment came during a prayer session dedicated to our candidates, who are gearing up for their national exams. The room buzzed with positive energy as students, mentors, and supporters united in prayer, seeking strength and focus for the critical weeks ahead. It was a powerful reminder of the community’s unwavering support for these young scholars.
The celebration also highlighted the students’ achievements over the past academic term. From marked improvements in academic performance to standout participation in inter-school subject contests, and extra-curricular activities every student had a story of growth to share. Their pride was palpable, and the room erupted in applause as we recognized their hard work and resilience.
To cap off the event, we honored the top-performing students with gifts, a gesture to celebrate their dedication and inspire them to continue striving for excellence. The smiles on their faces as they received their awards were a testament to the impact of encouragement and recognition.
As our students prepare to return to school for their third academic term and exams at the end of this month, we send them off with our best wishes and unwavering support. The Stay in School Project thrives because of the generosity and commitment of our supporters, who make it possible for these young minds to pursue their dreams. To everyone who has helped keep our kids in school this year, thank you. Together, we’re building brighter futures, one student at a time.
